It was rather sad to meet the members of the Coffee Party this weekend. Frankly, they seemed demoralized and had absolutely no coherent message to explain why they were part of the new “movement.” I guess that explains why many of them supported “Change.”
“Change” was an amorphous term that surrounded a past grassroots movement, and Obama knew that it would mean “positive change” in the minds of his supporters without defining what he really meant when he said it.
Now, however, the Tea Party movement has been successful at mobilizing an opposition to the Leftist / Progressive agenda, and former Obama campaigners still yearn to “speak truth to power.”
But, this time, they are the power and they don’t like the responsibility that comes with it.
