Annie Leonard, creator of “The Story of Stuff,” is back at it again. This time she uploaded a video titled, “The Story of Cosmetics.” Unfortunately, the entire video is bogus.
In fact, peer-reviewed science disputes almost everything she asserts. Worst of all, she is advocating for legislation that would cripple our economy. Below is my video critique of “The Story of Cosmetics.”

Her airplane scenario was great. Only about 20% of an aircraft is inspected. When you think about any one piece, say a landing gear leg, only certain parts could fail. The rest is so strong and under-stressed, it can't fail and is deemed so safe, there is no requirement or need to inspect it. So while rod ends are under mandatory checks the other 90% of the rod aren't.
If we had laws requiring 100% of every airplane to be inspected at intervals short enough to be meaningful, only the most wealthy people in world could afford to fly and the aircraft wouldn't be any safer.
