		<description>Her airplane scenario was great. Only about 20% of an aircraft is inspected. When you think about any one piece, say a landing gear leg, only certain parts could fail.  The rest is so strong and under-stressed, it can&#039;t fail and is deemed so safe, there is no requirement or need to inspect it. So while rod ends are under mandatory checks the other 90% of the rod aren&#039;t.  
If we had laws requiring 100% of every airplane to be inspected at intervals short enough to be meaningful, only the most wealthy people in world could afford to fly and the aircraft wouldn&#039;t be any safer. </description>
